Stu and his wife Alison are a Miami Merger, who have been married for 28 years. They raised their sons, Jacob and Nick, in Dublin, where the family is dedicated to serving the community through work in the Special Olympics, Miracle League, Dublin Youth Athletics and the YMCA.
Stu has served on the Dublin School Board for 12 years, working to provide an excellent education to the community’s students. He has also served on the Tolles Career and Technical School Board and the Ohio School Boards Association as president-elect. Alison works at the Hilliard YMCA, helping children and families to be healthy and promote recreation, nutrition and well-being.
Alison and Stu met at Miami University in Ohio. After completing his law degree, Stu served as a judicial law clerk in federal district court. He later worked for Ohio Attorney General Betty Montgomery, where he became Assistant Chief of the Criminal Justice Section. He worked diligently on legislation that resulted in longer prison sentences for violent criminals.
Following his tenure with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Harris was an associate at Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter, where he worked with property owners and small businesses.
Today, Harris is assistant general counsel at Nationwide Insurance, where he helps Ohio companies grow and create jobs by providing insurance to protect their businesses.
